Query: Why is it constitutionally permissible for cops to lie to criminals, but a crime (obstruction of justice) for criminals to lie to cops?
Point: Do not lie to the cops (federally you're looking at 20 years max). It is better for a lot of reasons, not only avoiding obstruction charges, to just keep your mouth shut.
The chief internal enemies of any state are those public officials who betray the trust imposed upon them by the people.
